Job interview 2

Well I made an appointment for the interview. When I called the director ask me what I was applying for. I told her that she called me wanting to interview me for the DON position. She set the interview for 11:30 the next day. I get there for the interview, and she says did you fax in your resume? I said no, you left a messege that you had my application and resume from the retirement center. She said well you are going to have to fill out this application, and can you come back this afternoon, I have a luncheon at noon. I told her I just drove 28 miles for this, I can't come back. That would have been 112 miles for an interview. I didn't get a good feeling about all this, and never even filled out the application. I just felt that she was very unorganized, and unprofessional. There was no reason she couldn't have faxed me the application to have when I got to the interview, and who schedules an interview half hour before a luncheon. I feel for whoever got the job, I'm sure it's going to be stressful.

Another job interview

I got a messege this week for a job interview. I was at my newest job, and my husband called. He said " you just got a call for an interview." I asked " From who, and what is the position?" He said told me it was a retirement home wanting to interview for a LPN DON position. He said they said on the messege that they received my resume from the rehab side. I had not applied for this position.
I had saw the ad in the newspaper, but didn't feel I would qualify, as I had no management experience. I called the woman back, and set up an interview. It's today at 11:30. I'm going to see what is involved. I'm not sure I can do it. I was hoping to be able to go get my hair cut and permed before hand, but no time for that. I have 2 hours before the interview and we are having an ice storm coming through.
I will post how the interview goes.

Working from home

I have temporarly given up on working from home. My computer was down for over a month, and I wasn't able to do the work, my husband is not supportive of it. He feels if he has to leave the house to work, so do I.
I am working 2 jobs, I just started working in a home doing private duty for 3 ladies, and I do insurance exams. Working these 2 jobs is wearing me out quickly. I have schedules up everywhere to remind me where I'm suppose to be going. I try to get 1 day where I don't have to do anything.
I hope by working 2 jobs, I can save enough money to go to medical transcription school. I hope to be able to do this in the fall.

Laptop is repaired

I got my laptop back today. Geek Squad said it was fixed, we'll see. Tonight I've just been searching around. I admit it's nice to be able to use a computer and sit in my comfortable chair.
Later this week, I'm going to try to view a movie and see what happens. If things go well, I'll be back to posting more often.

laptop in shop

Ok, for the time being I'm not working from home. My laptop was having problems and I took it to the geek squad. They have had it for over a month now. At first they said it was a heating problem. Well after sending it to gateway service center and getting it returned because best buy put the wrong battery on it when I bought it. They have now ordered the right battery, and waiting for it to come in, they say it was a battery problem. I hope so. I doubt I buy anything from best buy again. The electronics I have bought at walmart last long than anything I've bought at best buy. While all this is going on, I'm unable to work at home. I loss my WAH job, and am searching for new things.
Today I did some surveys, email. I have also started knitting, and looking for ways to sell handmade items. Of course who can afford them, everyone is losing jobs. I think I'm going to post of few things on a WAH forum and see how it goes. I will post when I do, and how it goes. I was going to try selling on ebay, but you have to have your credit card saved on paypal. Did that once got burned, won't do it again.

Looking for work

I'm still looking for real work from home jobs. I'm not looking for a business, or get rich quick. I want a job that requires actual work. I am looking for something to get us through the next couple months, and then be able to use that money to pay for medical transcripion course. I would like to be doing transcription work by next winter.
I have applied for scholarships that are available for course work at home. I haven't gotten anything.
I'm also making christmas presents for this year to help save money. I am teaching myself to knit at this time. Adding this to already crocheting, I should be able to make quite a bit for christmas.
Well that's it for today. I'm still waiting on my computer to get back from being repaired.

It's been awhile

I know it's been awhile since I posted anything. My laptop is in the shop, and my daughters computer is very slow. I hate using this thing, but I felt I needed to post something today.I'm still searching for more things to do at home, but without my computer it's not easy. I have applied for a few outside jobs to get us by. We need some income coming in.
I received an email today from a friend about a job. I'm waiting to hear back from her. It's a contracted position, that will only involve a couple hours a day. I would rather do that than have to go into a nursing home for 12 hours a night.
I have also been working on a couple projects. I'm making my Easter dress for this year, as well as crocheting most of christmas. I've been learning new techniques, and pla teach myself to knit.
Anyway, I'll post more when I get my computer back. Until I get it back I can't really do much from home.

Tax returns

I am still have trouble finding profitable work from home jobs. I am going to take a tax preparation course. I hope to get hired by the company I'm taking the course through. I have the day off tomorrow so I'm going to o some searching again. Too bad that searching for work doesn't pay. I would be rich if it did. I believe that after I finish this course and do some work I will have some new marketable skills.
I'm also looking for any work that I can do around the insurance exams. Something that I can save the money back to pay for medical transcription course. With my medical background I would already have some skills for this.
I know this is short, but I've been sick today, and just don't feel up to typing much.

mystery shopper

This new year I hope to find something to actually make a living at. I spent about an hour yesterday signing up to be a mystery shopper. I'm believing God is going to point me in the right direction.
I would really like to go to school for medical transcription. I think I would do well with this as I have a medical background. Blogging has helped with my typing skills. I have researched several schools, just not sure which way to go. I would really like to go with career steps, but I don't have the money for it. I also can't get grants or scholarships, as it's an online course.
Anyway, I'm looking for more things online to do. I really don't want to go to a nursing home to work. I'm also searching for ways to get my blogs noticed, maybe then I can start making money with them.
Hope everyone had a great new years, and you get all you hope for in the new year. I'm trusting God to give me what I need.
